Dead Sea, Jordan
Wedding photography at the Dead Sea
The lowest place on earth has the softest light in Jordan. We photograph weddings in the Dead Sea hotels and couple shoots on the salt shore, from the noon glare to the last silhouette.
Plan a Dead Sea shootWhy the Dead Sea photographs so well
At more than 400 metres below sea level, the air is hazy and the sun sets behind the hills of Palestine across the water, so the light stays soft and warm for longer than in Amman. White salt on the shore works as a natural reflector.
For a couple's shoot we plan around the last two hours of daylight; for a hotel wedding we use that hour for portraits before the party begins.
A real shoot on the shore
The photographs on this page are from one of our Dead Sea shoots: white linen, the salt flats, a run through the shallows and silhouettes at sunset. The full story is linked below.
Practical notes
Summer afternoons at the Dead Sea are very hot; spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for outdoor photographs. Bring flat shoes for the salt, and a second outfit if you plan to step into the water.
Weddings at the Dead Sea use the same packages as Amman; travel is quoted for your date.
Coming from the Gulf or abroad?
If you live outside Jordan and are marrying here, we have a page on planning your wedding photography from abroad: what to decide first, how to book, and how travel is quoted.

Real weddings and stories
Questions couples ask
What is the best time for a Dead Sea photoshoot?
The last two hours before sunset, in spring or autumn. Midday light is harsh and summer afternoons are very hot.
Is there an extra cost outside Amman?
The packages are the same; travel is quoted for your wedding when you ask. Send the date and the venue and we reply with the cost.
Can we combine the shoot with the wedding day?
Yes, if the wedding is at a Dead Sea hotel. If the wedding is in Amman, the Dead Sea shoot can be on a separate day before or after.
Can the whole crew be women?
Yes. The studio has a full female team — photographers and videographers — for women-only weddings and halls, as well as mixed crews.
