How to choose a wedding photographer in Jordan
Seven questions to ask before booking a wedding photographer in Jordan: what to look for in a portfolio, what a package includes, and costs people forget.

Check your date1. Look at whole weddings, not only the best ten photographs
Any photographer can show ten good frames. Ask to see one complete wedding from the same studio: the preparations, the homes, the hall in low light, the zaffeh, the family groups. A full gallery shows how they work when the light is bad and the room is crowded — which is most of a Jordanian wedding.
2. Ask who will actually be there
Studios often have several photographers. Ask who will photograph your wedding, how many photographers and videographers come, and whether there is a light assistant. For a women-only hall, ask whether the studio has a full female team — photographers and videographers.
3. Compare what a package includes, not only its price
Two packages at the same price can be very different. Put them side by side and check:
- How many printed photographs, and the size of the enlargements
- Whether every photograph is delivered in high resolution
- Video: how many cameras, 4K or not, full film and highlights film
- Which parts of the day: salon, both homes, the hall, the party
- Extras such as a live edit, a crane or an album
4. Ask about the costs people forget
Travel outside Amman, an overnight stay for the crew, extra hours, extra prints and albums. A clear studio quotes these in writing before you pay a deposit. Some halls also charge their own fee for an outside photographer or crane — ask your venue.
5. Ask when you will receive everything
Ask for the delivery time of the edited photographs, the prints and the film, and how they are delivered — online, on a drive, printed. Write it into the agreement.
6. Meet them, or at least call
You will spend the most important day with this person closer than with most guests. A short visit to the studio or a call tells you whether they listen, whether they understand your families' traditions, and whether you feel at ease.
7. Book early for the summer
In Jordan most weddings happen between late spring and the end of summer, and Thursday and Friday nights fill first. Check your date as soon as you have the hall.
